As a large percentage of the people most affected by this illness were marginalized, they were often unable to get new wardrobes to keep up with their changing body. This look depicts the unfortunate progression from HIV to AIDS. The pants held up by leather straps are a reminder of needing the help of community to keep it together- another animal’s skin is literally keeping them clothed.
