LOOK TWO
Explores creating a tactile and visual representation of having HIV. The unexplainable feeling of something is not right. The jeans are crafted with hemp denim that has a unique freckled slub. While every detail on them is functional, they are far from traditional. The 16oz pair is patterned in such a way that the yoke becomes the waistband. Without a j-fly or closure these form to the wearers body and hug the hips. The a-symmetrical back pockets sewn on with top-stitching that runs away is a visceral expression of the unknown and out of control.
On top, a naturally dyed jersey knit top is a difficult foreshadowing to the progression of the illness. The lightweight textile provides softness and comfort while also putting the wearer on full display. Without side seams, this top hugs the wearer while drawing attention to the harsh hourglass illusion.
