LOOK ONE

Depicts someone who just heard about the epidemic, during the start of this time folks turned to partying to blow off steam and forget about the news. While they are still living their normal life, they are also feeling very vulnerable. The top exposes the wearer's heart and the hem creeps up their torso, daunting exposure. The red trim at the opening of the top is in remembrance of the AIDS awareness ribbon. The poly-plisse fabric lends a mechanical feel, unnatural and out of sorts.

The jeans are an everyday pair, the wide leg perfect for day-to-night. Hidden pockets in the oversized back ones make them the perfect party pant. The left-sided coin pocket provides reference to handkerchief code. Faintly spray painted on the front reads “ACT UP” (AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power) an activist group who performed acts of civil unrest. The almost silent protest is starting to brew.
